THOOTHUKUDI MARITIME OFFICER'S ASSOCIATION
Thoothukudi Maritime Officer’s Association (TMOA) was inaugurated by Capt. Parthasarathy, Surveyor, Mercantile Marine Department, Tuticorin on 05th Of April 2022 . The inauguration celebration was held on the National Maritime day at Tamil Nādu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University , Fisheries Nautical Technology College locate inside Tuticorin Fishing Harbour campus.
Association was officially registered under Certification of Registration under Section 10 of Tamil Nadu Societies registration Act 1975 ( TN Act 27 of 1975) under Serial no SRG/Tuticorin/83/2022.
Vision
- Enhance and enrich the merchant navy officers in and around Thoothukudi through bringing them together, sharing knowledge and coordinating maritime activities.
Aims and Objectives
- The principal aim of the association is to bring the merchant navy officers of Thoothukudi and surrounding area together and connected, so as to provide a platform for interaction. Ensure the common interest of the members in maritime field is protected.
- To bring all merchant navy officers together under one roof and to share knowledge and enhance knowledge through meetings, seminar and webinars. To arrange eBooks and publications related to the maritime field and diffuse information and knowledge among the members.
- To consider and formulate the opinion on all matters connected with the maritime education, various maritime regulations and updating on the latest developments in the maritime field on global level.
- To create awareness on the shore job opportunities available in and around Thoothukudi and help the members to avail the same
- To encourage members to participate in joint ventures on commercial basis in maritime education, maritime services, consultancy services and such other activities.
- To mediate and to negotiate with the party or organisation concerned such as MUI, Shipping companies, and so on. &help the members settle any issues related to claims, grievances or disputes.
- To construct or purchase building for the purpose of the association. To raise fund by loan if required for the above purposes abiding by relevant terms and conditions by providing securities as may be determined by pledging all or any of the properties of the association.
- To raise, hold and manage funds by means of subscription, donation, loan and otherwise to fulfil the above objectives, to invest the said funds in proper remunerative investments, both movable and immovable properties.
- To provide service to its members through group insurance, health, spiritual and financial / investment management.
- To receive eBooks and publications related to the maritime filed and diffuse information and knowledge among its members.
- To arrange get together, meetings, tours and other social welfare activities to its members.
